A GET-A-WAY WEEKEND TO REMEMBER

COUPLES RETREAT

September 25-27, 2009

Spend a special weekend get-a-way with your spouse, to renew and rejuvenate your relationship and rejoice in the grace of the Sacrament of Marriage.

This retreat is for you if you’ve been looking for a couples’ retreat designed primarily for a husband and wife with a good marriage, who want to deepen their relationship with each other and with God.

Marriage means choosing to travel a journey together. It means choosing to go through the ups and downs of life together lovingly. It means challenging each other to grow, supporting and encouraging each other as we go on our way. It means answering God’s call “to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing one another through love.” (Ephesians 4:1-2)

Come spend a special weekend with your spouse, exploring issues of Christian Marriage through discussion, activities and reflection.

It is a weekend experience designed specifically for couples. The weekend will be facilitated by three married couples:

Mr.& Mrs. Brian Cawley, whose rich experience in working with couples will bring new depth of understanding and acceptance for living the “empty nest” syndrome.

Mr.& Mrs. Dave Eddy will invite you to a deeper experience of intimacy, renewal and purpose thereby creating a stronger union and oneness.

Mr.& Mrs. Bill Melican will explore marriage to a widow/widower; how the unique but wonderful dynamics of a blended family can be healing even when grief and love co-exist.

Fr. Ron Meyer, OMI will lead us into praying as a couple, discerning and sharing God’s purpose for Oneness. This weekend will provide stress-free time for the participating couples to renew their relationship as a couple, and with God.

Cost per couple: $ 300. Call (860) 423-8484 to Register with Diane at Immaculata or please contact us via e-mail.

TERTULLIAN (2nd century Christian theologian says)

“How can I ever express the happiness of a marriage joined by the Church, strengthened by an offering, sealed by a blessing, announced by angels and ratified by the Father?… How wonderful the bond between two believers, now one in hope, one in desire, one in discipline, one in the same service! They are both children of one Father and servants of the same Master, undivided in spirit and flesh, truly two in one flesh. Where the flesh is one, one also is the spirit.” -->
